Legal Aspects
The following documents have to be provided:
- Proof of identity: Picture identification (eg: drivers license)
and certified copy of Birth Certificate, or passport.
- For airport arrivals, Cayman Islands immigration card.
- For cruise ship passengers, originals and copies of the
boarding card/pass.
- Certified or notarized copies of divorce decrees/death certificates.
A marriage can be performed as soon as the application has been
processed. The application, which must be signed by both people,
must give full names, occupations, and permanent address and any
current temporary address. It must also give the name of the marriage
officer who will perform the ceremony, state of either party has
been previously married, and confirm that there is no impediment
of kindred, or alliance or other lawful hindrance to the intended
marriage. All weddings must be attended by a local registered marriage
officer and by two other witnesses. They must take place between
the hours of 6.00am and 8.00pm, with open doors to the premises.

Please note that from January 2008 all US citizens are required
to travel with a valid passport
