Enjoy the Best Lunch and Dinner in Grand Cayman

Enjoy the Best Lunch and Dinner in Grand Cayman
14 May 2019

Whether you are heading out for lunch or dinner, there is no better way to enjoy the experience than by sitting down to an expertly prepared meal surrounded by friends and family, or a combination of both, at our waterfront restaurant in the Cayman Islands.

Family dining is accepted the world over, across cultures, as the most rewarding experience of all. Breaking bread and sharing a meal with those you love and are loved by, with lively conversation and perhaps a glass of wine, is one of life’s greatest pleasures.

Whether for the best lunch or dinner in the Cayman Islands, the meal may often start with soup or salad. These first courses are not only tasty, but also healthy, as they may keep you from over-indulging during the main meal and, regrettably, ending up with a very uncomfortable too-full feeling. In our tropical climate in Cayman, we recommend such fare as cold soup of the day, or , creamy cheese served with local tomatoes, arugula salad, roasted pine nuts and roasted parma ham, dressed in aged balsamic reduction and basil oil, with crostini.

Light lunch options include a classic Caesar salad or a Nicoise salad with tuna, fingerling potatoes, boiled eggs, green beans, tapenade, anchovies and extra virgin olive oil and lemon dressing.

For a heartier lunch in Grand Cayman, at our waterfront restaurant, may we recommend our classic beef burger, New York strip steak or a classic club sandwich? We also offer vegetarian pasta and vegan curry.

And if appetizers are your cup of tea, we have those too. Consider ceviche of the day, Caribbean lobster salad, wahoo carpaccio or conch fritters, among other choices.

Moving on to the main event – dinner – we offer many tempting options, with the freshest ingredients. Among our top choices are bone-in ribeye steak, a 20-ounce pan-roasted bone-marrow-crusted steak served with roasted potatoes, truffle-infused mushrooms, red wine sauce and Bérnaise sauce; New Zealand rack of lamb with herb and Dijon mustard crust, served with scalloped potatoes, roasted vegetables, thyme jus and port wine reduction; and pan-roasted lobster.

All of these selections are just part of waterfront fine dining in the Cayman Islands. If wine pairings are something you’re considering, we have you covered. As the recipient of the Best of Award of Excellence, a Wine Spectator Restaurant Award for 2018, Grand Old House was recognized for “lists that display excellent breadth across multiple regions and/or significant vertical depth of top wines, along with superior presentation,” according to Wine Spectator.

Our collection offers more than 2,100 selections, and we also have a private wine room for fine dining in an elegant setting. It’s the perfect place to enjoy the best dinner in Grand Cayman.

And, just as reminder, there’s still dessert! Look for such sumptuous creations as banana sticky toffee pudding, red velvet chocolate lava cake, lemon tart and peanut semifreddo. Whatever your selections, whether for lunch or for dinner, please join us for a fine dining experience. Here’s where to easily make a reservation.
