With an unsurpassed collection of more than 2,000 fine wines from all over the world, Grand Old House is the best place in the Cayman Islands for rare wines, expert advice, and exceptional choice.

Many restaurants in Grand Cayman rely on local distributors for their wines. Still, Grand Old House is dedicated to sourcing hard-to-find wines and vintages directly from wineries or trusted wine auction houses worldwide. Its large selection of vintages from France, Italy, and California are unsurpassed in the Cayman Islands, with some fine examples dating back to 1927.

This carefully assembled and curated wine collection now offers more than 2,000 selections (more than 25,000 bottles) from around the world. It has made Grand Old House a consistent winner of the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Look for some stunning offerings from Bordeaux and California and many superb and hard to find examples from Italy, Spain, Austria, Germany, and the Rhone Valley.

Nino’s Wine Bar and Retail Shop, named after Grand Old House’s sommelier, is the place to discover and learn about new wines and indulge in some deliberative and educational sampling, either by the glass or the bottle. Nino’s list runs to more than 500 carefully selected wines, and each is on sale at retail prices to take home and enjoy at home.

Once a week, Nino conducts a blind tasting or gives guests a guided tour through a selection of wines from a particular region or country, offering insights, recommendations, and an informative explanation of the selected wines – all available for sale in the retail shop.

And don’t forget that Grand Old House has been at the forefront of Cayman Islands dining since 1969. As well as the main restaurant area, serving the finest Caribbean and international fare in colonial plantation house splendor, there are four private dining rooms, each providing ample opportunities for private wine tastings and dinners.
